Top Places to Eat in Cincinnati

Cincinnati is a foodie town. We have some great chefs and restaurants that are not to be missed. If you recall from an earlier blog, I explained the five sections of Greater Cincinnati – OTR, CBD, The Banks, Covington, and Newport – and how to get around. I’m going to make two to three suggestions for each section of town.

Over the Rhine (OTR)
  • Salazar Restaurant & Bar (1401 Republic St) – Intimate and exquisite. Chef Jose Salazar will challenge your palate.
  • The Eagle OTR (1342 Vine St) – Fried chicken with a side of hot honey sauce? Yes, please! Oh, you did NOT just put brown sugar bacon on my plate.

Central Business District (CBD)
  • Jean-Robert's Table (713 Vine St) – Jean Robert is the culinary master in town. Many of the great chefs and restaurants got their start with JeanRo.
  • Sotto (118 E 6th St) - David Falk is another brilliant chef and he and his staff live by BPA - Blow People Away. That is precisely what this Italian restaurant will do.
  • Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse (700 Walnut St) – THE best steak in Cincinnati if not the world. Seriously, I’ve never had a better steak anywhere.

The Banks
  • Taste of Belgium (16 West Freedom Way) - Two words. Belgium waffles. Two more words. Sweet or savory. Ok, that’s technically three words, but you get the idea.
  • Moerlein Lager House (115 Joe Nuxhall Way) - Moerlein was the first local beer to make a comeback before the craft craze.

Covington
  • Coppin's Restaurant & Bar (638 Madison Ave) - It’s all good. Pairing anything with a bourbon makes it better.
  • Agave & Rye (633 Madison Ave) – Who wants a late-night taco? (I want a late-night taco!) Plus, the margaritas are killer.

Newport

  • Dewey's Pizza (Newport on the Levee, 1 Levee Way) - Some would argue this is Greater Cincinnat’s best pizza.
  • York St. CafĂ© (738 York St) - Quirky and relaxing. Is it a library? A speakeasy? You figure it out.
